1888 Newspaper wrapper from England with 1/2d vermilion paying 1/2d printed matter rate, sent to Bogorodsk imperf. 1kop violet for local delivery (Ch#44) applied, very rare

1889 (Mar) Wrapper from England with 1/2d vermilion (minor defects), tied by London “F.B.” (foreign branch) obliterator, arriving Moscow (12 Mar), with three different pmks on back, transferred to Zemstvo Authority in Bogorodsk, where 1k imperf. Postage due was added, tied by Bogorodskaya Uyezd Zemsk. Uprava cds, English language translated by postal authority in Moscow (red and black manuscript in Cyrillic), fine and scarce England/Zemstvo combination

1889 Wrapper sent from London to Moscow franked by Jubilee 1/2d vermilion (partly over edge) tied by London “FB” (Foreign Branch) barred cancel, but then redirected from Moscow to Woronesh in the Bogorodsk District with 1k Brown Russian Zemstvo tied by a very fine cds

1895 (Feb 2) Legal size cover from Greenwich with two 1 1/2d Jubilees and two 1d lilacs paying the double UPU rate, addressed to Kupavka volost in Bogorodsk district, sent via Zemstvo Head Post Office (2 Feb), where local 8k rose (“dolgovaya” – indebted) stamp was added to pay the required fee for local delivery, cover folded at left, well away from the stamp, fine and remarkable item, probably the only known example of double rate from England to Bogorodsk

1896 Envelope from Cornholme with 1/2d paying the 1/2d printed matter rate, addressed to Peter Kalugin in Bogoslov volost in Bogorodsk district, sent via Moscow (1 July) to the Zemstvo Head Post Office (5 July), where local 2k yellow brown (“dolgovaya” – indebted) stamp was added to pay the required fee for local delivery, minor creases, otherwise fine.
